Types of Funds

Almost any charitable purpose can be served through the variety of funds that the Foundation offers. Funds can be established in your name or in the name of a loved one. They are typically managed as permanent endowments.

Unrestricted Funds: These funds provide the best long-term flexibility to meet a wide range of community needs, as determined by the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Field-of-Interest Funds: These funds allow you to restrict grants to a particular area of interest. Grant recipients within that field are selected by our Board.

Designated Funds: These funds allow you to select a specific nonprofit organization or group of organizations to receive long-term support.

Donor-Advised Funds: These funds enable you to make recommendations each year regarding grants from the fund. You can make the same recommendations each year or change them annually.

Grantee Endowment Funds: Nonprofits can establish funds through the Foundation in lieu of having to create and manage funds themselves. Donors who are interested in helping provide significant long-term support to the named agencies are invited to contribute assets to these “open” funds at any time.

Scholarship Funds: These funds help young women and men pursue educational opportunities.

Memorial Funds: These funds honor the memory of loved ones by continuing to promote charitable causes that were dear to them.
