Criteria to be as follows:

1. Be a graduating senior from Alleghany High School or Covington High School
2. Demonstrate high moral values, a concern for others, and involvement in the school and community.
3. Demonstrate the ability to balance an academic and community-oriented career while in high school
4. Demonstrate financial need.
5. Enroll full-time in an accredited two or four year college or university.

Recommendations: two from academic teachers who have taught the student and/or guidance counselor who has counseled the student.
